Create New Map EDITING A MAP To edit a desired map, click on the name of the map in the System Navigation. Once the map-editing interface has loaded, you can successfully edit the map. Map-Editing Interface MAP NAME should be unique for referencing the page throughout the system. The name can contain uppercase, lowercase, and numerical characters. DEFAULT MAP TYPE determines which type of map will automatically load when the viewer enters the map, whether it be satellite/map hybrid, terrain, plain Google map, or whatever layer you choose. TEMPLATE allows you to choose the template in which the map will load. META TAG RECORD determines what keywords and description you want associated with this map. These records reside within the page for search engine reference. The pulldown lists the Meta Tag Records on file in the system. To manage these records, please refer to the Meta Tag Records section of this manual. START LOCATION determines what the viewer will first see when they enter the map. You can type in longitude and latitude if you know them, or click on the map in the window below to choose the startup point and zoom level. WIDTH AND HEIGHT determines the size of the map. CONTROL determines whether or not the control panel of the map (seen in the top left hand corner) is shown on the map. You may check the box to show it or remove the check to hide it. ZOOM BOX determines whether or not the zoom box tool, whereby you click and drag an area of the map creating a box to zoom in on, is shown on the map. You may check the box to show it or remove the check to hide it. EDIT CONTENT allows you to edit the content of the map. Toolbar Information - click here.
Once you have finished editing the map, click “save” to publish your changes. ^^ TOP ^^ DELETING A MAP To delete a desired map, click on the name of the map in the System Navigation. Once the map-editing interface has loaded, click the “Delete” button. A popup will appear to confirm this action. COPYING A MAP To copy a desired map, click on the name of the map in the System Navigation. Once the map-editing interface has loaded, click the “Copy” button. The newly created copy will load into the map-editing interface. The MAP NAME will automatically be changed to "Originalname copy" and FILENAME will automatically be changed to "filename_copy.html". Change these fields to your desired values. Once you have finished editing the map, click “save” to publish your changes. |
