This function is used to create a new layer in your map and set its location in the navigation tree.
MAP determines in which map the layer will be located.
LAYER TYPE determines what type of layer it is, whether it be a KML file, an GeoRSS feed or a WMS Server.
STARTUP LOAD determines if the layer should be loaded on the initialization of the map. If set to No, the user will be able to select the layer from a drop-down menu.
LAYER NAME should be unique for referencing the page throughout the system. The name can contain uppercase, lowercase, and numerical characters.
LAYER URL is the URL, or address, of the layer.
STYLES is the styles field of the WMS data you are wanting to load.
FORMAT is the format of the WMS data you are wanting to load.
LAYERS is the name of the layer you want to view from WMS server, whether it be default or other.
Once you have filled out each field, click “save” to create the page. The system will automatically take you to the layer-editing interface so that you may edit the layer you have created.
