Create Point | |||||
This function enables you to create a new point in your map and set its location in the navigation tree. MAP determines in which map the page will be located. POINT NAME should be unique for referencing the page throughout the system. The name can contain uppercase, lowercase, and numerical characters. ICON allows you to choose an icon from the icon sets to represent the point. LOCATION allows you to set the location of the point. If you already know them, you can enter the longitude and latitude, as well as the desired zoom level, in the spaces provided. If you do not know them, click on LOCATION and a new window will appear with a map. You can search the Google Map interface of this map for the location of the point by dragging the map with your mouse or using the map controls in the left corner of the map. When you find where you want to place the icon, click and the icon will appear, filling in the longitude and latitude for you. Otherwise, if you know the address of the point, you can enter it into the address space and you will be given the possible options. Click on the correct one. Once you have located your point, click save and you will be returned to the "Create new Point" page. Once you have filled out each field, click “save” to create the page. The system will automatically take you to the point-editing interface so that you may edit the point you have created. |
